Fade Into You

He is known as half of the hip-hop duo Blackwave, but few people know Willem Ardui’s solo work. He writes and sings his songs in his native language, Dutch. Expect introspective and melancholic songs floating on mellow beats. Ardui gets inspired by singer-songwriters with a penchant for electronic sounds, such as James Blake.

Loverman, aka James de Graef, is a British-Belgian singer-songwriter with a penchant for modern troubadours such as Jacques Brel and Leonard Cohen. He writes love songs (preferably on an old guitar) and made an impression with his debut single Into the night. Loverman's trademark are timeless, classic songs and his deep, warm voice. 

As a DJ, Jonas Alexander often turns to his roots to create a surprisingly modern blend of a variety of genres. This ranges from his Afro-American roots, expressed through Baltimore Club or Dirty South Rap, to the UK influences of his youth, expressed in the form of Hard Drum, UK Funky or others. For him, 'it's all about the beats that get your ass moving'.

Myrddin De Cauter is a household name in the contemporary flamenco scene. As a teenager he discovered the magical flamenco guitar and it has never left him since. He combines technical virtuosity with emotional intensity - a truly inspiring musician! Now he hits the stage with his daughter Imre, cellist. The duo made their much-appreciated debut at Gent Jazz in 2018. A flourishing career lies ahead.

Hoffman is the musical alter ego of Maurice Luijten. With his dark electronic music referencing ambient and industrial techno, he became the winner of the musical talent hunt Sound Track. He played festivals (We Are Open at Trix and Rock Herk, among others) and impresses audiences with his DJ sets, for which he creates impressive visuals.

Countertenor, performer and opera director Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and producer Laurens Mariën present extracts from their album and performance Spectacles. An electronic concert or a frantic love ritual, bipolar genres and atmospheres, operatic dada blues punk pop, a sultry high-pitched voice, dark beats and lots of theatricality.

Aylin Hazel is a Belgian DJ with Romanian roots. As Ogenn she is member of the One Track Brain crew, the project of Jeroen De Pessemier (The Subs). Ogenn’s credo? ‘Touching the soul before mobilizing the body.’ She likes to serve her house and techno with a dash of dark poetry.

Dj Femifè started as a DJ in 2018 and has not stopped spinning the turntables since. She has roots in Benin and her sets are a mix of afro, reggaeton, hip hop and R&B.

There are drag queens, drag kings, drag clowns, drag monarchs and drag queers, but there is only one Drag Couenne ... and she is fierce! Or as she herself likes to say: 'I don't eat meat but you will eat me.' Drag Couenne (alter ego of Adrien De Biasi) lives in Brussels but pops up all over the country - preferably unexpectedly. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Fade Into You becomes the setting in which the figures that inhabit Hanna-Lee Daled's visual world come together. This Belgian visual artist presents a study of figures who regularly appear in her paintings and drawings. As a visitor you descend into a scenographic forest of bodies - are they reality or fiction? Up to you to find out …

Dancer and choreographer Lisa Vereertbrugghen has been researching hardcore techno dance styles since 2014. This resulted, among other things, in the techno meditation that you can experience during Fade Into You. A mix of deep bass, techno classics and soothing meditation voices. Unlock your mind and let go.

Dancer Misha Demoustier is self-taught. His role in Into the open, the dance performance-meets-concert by choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez and musician Maarten Van Cauwenberghe, was his major breakthrough. Nowadays he is developing new work for Ultima Vez. At Fade Into You he will be showing his research: a physical installation and performance that gives the audience a glimpse inside his thoughts.

Performance artist Rosie Sommers is 'the naked traveller' who takes you on a guided tour through De Studio. Sommers studied drama at the KASK in Ghent and choreography at the ISAC in Brussels. In her work she likes to explore the possibilities of non-theatrical spaces and the audience as a participating element.

BeShibari is one of the leading artists in the Belgian shibari scene. Inspired by Japanese videos and SM magazines from the 1970s he has developed a unique 'freestyle' shibari: energetic and dynamic, with a flow reminiscent of fusion jazz. In his performances, BeShibari appeals to the endurance of his models, which often evokes deep physical and emotional reactions from his rope partners.

In Touch deprivation, Lola Ilegems explores how wearable technology can alleviate our need for physical contact in times of social distancing. Wearable garments give an auditory dimension to touch sensations: they convert touch into sound. The wearables externalize intimacy and invite the user to share a tactile sensation.

Diane de Moor aka Stilll has a background in music and sound design. She is currently working on her first EP. She investigates the effects of new sounds, repetitive music, loops and their musicality within electronic music. Her soundscapes are raw and melancholic, sounding like warm bread, worn concrete and old furniture.

The Brussels DJ Wife Mandala started out at home parties, but has since been featured in the Recyclart, C12, AB Club and Fuse. His unwavering interest in electronic music promises to deliver an interesting set during Fade Into You - or as he says himself: get ready for a 'brutal bang'.

In SKIN bewegen performers Manouk Pluis en Jim Buskens om elkaar heen in een poging één genderneutraal lichaam te vormen. Langzaam vervagen de grenzen, ze verstrengelen tot één geheel waarin je niet meer ziet welk lichaamsdeel van wie is. In deze performance overstijgen de dansers de aangeboren fysieke verschillen en gaan ze op zoek naar het nulpunt van ons menselijk lichaam.

Dj end verzamelt textuur in gevoelens, combineert die in rauwe composities, vermengt dat met muziek, bijna per ongeluk en performt. Dj end brengt en maakt een zeker non processed 4x4-ritme, gericht op geluid, hartzeer en experiment dat ook een weerspiegeling is van ander werk. Het resultaat ontstaat in een studio waar materialen, stoffen en nihilisme botsen. Dit brengt dj end via verschillende media.

Tulpa Collective bestaat uit Beau Van Hoydonck en Matthias Dziwak en gaat op verkenning naar het licht. De grenzen en het idee van een ruimte worden volledig abstract als we het licht breken en er deel van worden.

LICHKE, nog maar 14 jaar oud en nu al een eigen stijl als producer en beatmaker. Zijn stijl varieert van UK drill tot house en r&b. Met zijn eigen popband '2sides" maakt hij songs met zanger en vriend Seth Joostens Müller. Op Fade Into You speelt LICHKE voor de allereerste keer live zijn lo-fi house songs waar hij de afgelopen jaren aan heeft gewerkt.

Melawati experimenteert volop soundscapes en geluiden. Soms repetitief, soms chaotisch, altijd meeslepend. Op Fade Into You neemt hij je mee in zijn muzikale trip.
